About me & how I work
I am a fully qualified counsellor, supervisor and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. I trained at both West Thames College and Redlands Counselling and currently see clients in private practice in Wimborne. I also offer phone and online counselling to UK residents.
I am trained as a humanistic integrative counsellor which means that I have knowledge of several counselling approaches including Person-Centred, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. This allows me to work with my clients in a way which best suits their individual needs drawing on a range of theory, tools and techniques. Some of the areas of counselling I cover include:
Certificate in Online And Telephone Counselling
Level 6 Certificate in Therapeutic Counselling Supervision (in training)
Level 5 Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Level 4 Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling
Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Skills
Level 2 Certificate in Counselling and Working with Young People
Level 4 Diploma in Advice and Guidance
The benefits of counselling
Counselling can help you understand how your past/recent experiences impact on your present situation, thoughts and feelings. Having a safe, confidential space in which you can offload and be met with empathy can make an enormous difference to your life especially when things feel overwhelming. I work collaboratively with my clients to increase their self-awareness which empowers them and gives them more choice about how they move forward with their lives.
Upon your enquiry, I will contact you to arrange an initial consultation which will give us an opportunity to discuss your needs and for you to ask me any questions. If, following the initial consultation, you would like to go ahead with attending counselling sessions I will arrange a suitable time with you for sessions. I work face to face, online or over the phone.
Initial Consultation: £20
Counselling Session (50 mins) £40 to be discussed at initial consultation
*I offer a reduced rate to student counsellors seeking individual counselling as part of their training or to clients who are claiming benefits.
I offer supervision to qualified counsellors and those in caring/pastoral professions. Sessions for counsellors are usually 1 hour 30 minutes in line with BACP guidance. However, this is negotiable depending on professional body and/or other supervision in place. Our first session will be spent working on a collaborative contract, giving me the opportunity to understand what you would like to gain from supervision.
Supervision Session (90 mins) £60
*I am currently offering a reduced rate of £40 whilst I complete my supervision qualification.
